Nothing is as good as getting feedback from actual clients. Here's a quick snapshot of clients and their thoughts.

Exercising is always on my list of things to do. But, it usually gets pushed to the bottom of the list when life gets in the way. This year I promised myself that I would make it a priority. Rick and Balance Core are helping me keep that promise. All I had to do was step in the door and try. Rick is easy going and encouraging without judging me for what I can and cannot do. He provides a wide variety of exercises and changes the workout constantly. All I need to do is follow. If it were left up to me, I know I wouldn't exercise regularly. But with Rick and Balance Core I feel ready and able to stick with it. I feel better about myself and I know that I'm doing the right thing.

I am very proud of Jared Spiker for winning the state tennis championship and for defending his Singles Title from last year at the Carlsmith Ball/HHSAA Tennis Championship in final rounds on May 8 in Kona. Alex Le of Toys n' Joys Waialae referred Jared to me for personal training. Alex, also a client, wrote on my facebook, "Rick! Your training was a big part of Jared's success. Thanks a lot for getting Jared ready to defend his state title. He really felt it was a huge factor in his quest to repeat. You remember when Jared first got there and his balance was all off? Well just 6 weeks with you really changed that!" Jared was equally complimentary a couple days after winning (two years in a row!), "Thanks, Rick for all your help! I couldn't have done it without you! You are the man! I felt great on the court because of our training! Hope to workout soon! It really helped!" Of course, Jared could have done it without me but I know he made great strides in our training. Jared just graduated from Kalani High School. I am impressed by his perseverence, determination, and winning attitude. Way to go, Jared!!

I first met Rick when he rented space in the building I work in he was getting ready to open up Balance Core. I watched as he transformed an average office space into an awesome, state-of-the-arts personal training studio. I was envious as I imagined all the women (and men) that would be coming in to work on their already toned bodies. I so wanted to be a part of that but who would want to work with an overweight middle aged working mom. To my amazement I noticed all types of women and where they were on their journey to physical well being. Rick greeted everyone who walked through his door with a warm friendly smile.

One morning I gathered enough courage to talk to Rick and tell him that this is something I wanted for myself. He was so excited to hear that I was interested in working with him. He spent a lot of time with me explaining what he does and why he does it. I thought WOW for the first time in my life someone really cares about and wants to help the overweight person standing in front of them! I had the courage to talk to him but still not enough to start training. Rick would catch me in the hallway and ask me when I was going to start training. I would make up one excuse after another and he would just flash me a smile and say when you’re ready I will be here. My friends all knew I wanted to start training and were sick of me talking about it and not doing it. For my birthday they bought me 10 sessions with Rick now I had no choice but to start. That first training session I was so nervous and so worried about not being able to finish the actually workout and if there would be other clients there judging me. Well, I had nothing to be nervous about Rick was right there and guided me every step of the way. He explained and demonstrated each of the different exercises and the weight machines. He knew what I was capable of and never made me feel incompetent. He really wants his clients to succeed and feel good about themselves not fail and never workout again. As far as the other clients goes, nobody is there to watch you they are there to work on themselves.

From that day on I have been hooked. I can’t imagine now not having Rick and Balance Core be a part of my journey!

For years, I wished for regular workouts, but it just never happened. Finally, I signed up for personal training and it completely allowed me to change this wish into a reality.

My goal is to become more fit: increase my stamina, core strength, and learn multiple exercises I can do by myself at the gym. Rick is the type of trainer who responds to your individual abilities, creates a custom workout, and positively motivates you to achieve your personals goals. He modifies the routine each session so both my body and mind do not get bored. The workout always has more then one focus (an arm curl- but balance on one leg so your core is also working). This enhances each exercise, so you get more out of a single workout.

Rick has helped me improve my overall health, by which I mean strength, endurance, muscle tone and outlook in a short amount of time. If you are looking for someone to jump start your exercise routine, enhance your workouts, and keep up your motivation- call Rick!

We HIGHLY recommend personal training with Rick at BalanceCore Fitness. We hadn’t exercised in many years and were hesitant to start. Rick RESPECTS the shape you are in and takes you from there, no matter what your age. For each person he chooses a judicious balance of resistance training, aerobics, and strength training and gradually adds new movements to make you feel great about yourself. And his motivational skills make it fun – a regular Tony Robbins! His prices make getting into shape affordable. We’re very glad we made the decision.

My mothers stroke left me as her primary caregiver. I quickly realized that I did not have the strength or energy I needed to give her the care she deserved. I turned to Rick at BalanceCore for help. Rick's training has enabled me to handle the physical and mental challenges I face on a day to day basis.
